Kirk and Ezra,
What is your starting point to determine efficiency--what rating? STC, CEC,
real PVUSA. It makes a big difference where you start. If it is STC as I
would guess, 65-70% is probably a little on the high side for a
grid-connected battery system and is way high for an off-grid system.

I use the same 65-70% overall efficiency factor(array watt/hr per day
peak vs. usable ac output power) in a non-mppt system.

I think that battery system efficiencies are well below 80% and that we
simply hate to admit it. I use 80% for battery efficiency, and agree
with the other numbers you propose. I generally come out with a 65 -70%
overall system efficiency.
