I was also shocked at the prices some of these outfits sell gear for, barely
above my cost. Some publications have policies that do not list the price. It
says something like "too cheap to print- call us" or the like. I wonder if this
would be any help? For me it comes down to simply telling the customer that you
need the markup on materials to stay in business and if they want you to match a
no overhead, parts warehouse price or install another companies gear, then there
will be a labor surcharge.
