Where is Ground Clamps [RE-wrenches]

Jay,

We hashed through this several months ago on the list. The problem is the
fact that our module frames and many of our rails are annodized aluminum.
Direct metal contact is only achieved through stainless starwashers or some
method to get through the annodizing and electrically connect the frames to
the racks. No rack manufacture I'm aware of currently offers "effective
grounding" of the modules through their racks.

The issue is not electrical continuity to ground. The issue is--can the
ground path handle full short circuit current. Most module frames in contact
with rails cannot handle much current at all.

Bill.

Hi Dean,

Can you give me the code # that states all panels must be grounded in
addition to the metal frame they are on?

One installer I know puts in the permit all grounding to be done in
accordance with 250.136(a). This allows for only a single ground wire from
each seperate array. Makes it much easier.

thanks,

jay
