A Variaty of Meter readings [RE-wrenches]

If the readings are about equal during static condition (no charging, 
no load current either), but the differences increase with the 
current, then it's because of resistance between the different 
measuring points, which causes voltage drop in proportion to the 
current.

You can take a multimeter and read V between the + connection point 
of one metering device and + point of another device, and it should 
show the difference, which should increase in proportion to the 
current between those points. You can do the same between the 
negative points.

If there is a corroded connection, measure from one lug of the 
connection to another lug (for example) while current is flowing, and 
if there is excessive resistance, you will read the voltage drop on 
your meter.

All this might lead you to discovering where the unwanted resistance 
occurs, without unnecessary wrenching.
