Hullo again...

Thanks for the responses to the question on the merits of painting the 
panel backs black.

As Matt suggested it will have to be tried to prove the theory one way 
or the other. The list is split on the issue.

I just remember at school more years ago than I care to remember,  a 
physics experiment with a tin of hot water.  Two sides were painted 
black and two white.  The black sides radiated far more heat.

The reason why the issue came up was that I designed a system for a 
library here in Auckland and the architect stipulated that the back of 
the array was to be black for aesthetic reasons.  It is an open array 
with stacks of ventilation. I have pondered on the effect on performance.

Is there someone on the list that could easily prove this ??
