PS2512 glitches [RE-wrenches]

Hi,

I have had some problems with one or two remote panels with PS
inverters, seemed that if I used a different (random) panel it
corrected. Never could see the LED's on my machine. I have also
commissioned a number of PS2012. In my humble opinion it is a vastly
superior 12 Vdc inverter to the PS. (Surge with the old Trace would be
stronger, but quiet and wave form of ProSine outweigh this.). Not the
most friendly wiring interface and I'd suggest a "real" AC disconnect
close enough to the inverter to be connected to it with flex cable-the
output and input wires included with the ProSine are not very long.
There is a DC conduit box available but not very widely distributed, you
might have to search. Only other 'downside' is the lack of repair
availability, if they break they are replaced (covered by a strong
not-many-questions warranty) and tossed.

I've recommended the PS2012 as a great upgrade from old U and DR Series
inverters and folks have been generally very happy with the results
particularly more charging and nicer output. Have heard lots of
comments that the upgraded inverter eats more idle power. It is of
course true, the PS2012 uses about the same amount of idle current
(on/not sleeping) as a SW or FX all of which is a lot more than the old
U Series.

Hope that helps.

Ezra

I have a customer with a self installed PS2512. He has had numerous
problems
with his remote control panel, having sent it for repair twice to Tekris
and
now he is having problems with the inverter as well. He said the LEDs
on the
bottom are randomly flashing, not consistent with the mode it is in and
he has
had the voltage output waver up and down. I haven't witnessed this
firsthand
or checked the output. Has anyone had this type of problem with the PS.
I
didn't want to sell it to him in the first place but he didn't want to
give up
his 12V system when he needed sinewave power for his heater. He is now
buying
a Prosine. I hope he is not jumping from the frying pan to the fire.
Any
more comments good or bad on the ProSine 2000 watt with charger?
