cost per kWh [RE-wrenches]

Considering the fact that large scale WECS produces energy in the $00.05 per
kWh range, the $1.00 figure seems pretty high. If the figure is accurate,
how can PV ever compete with wind except in situations where land use
constraints (or lack of a sufficient wind resource) enter in?

Do you know of any real cost per kWh studies for PV-direct inter-tie
systems? This is something I've been asked about by several clients over the
years, but I've never been able to find any believable data. Having the info
available would be a good tool for many wrenches.
