cost per kWh [RE-wrenches]

I think that there are so many variables to the cost of kWh of PV that
it would be reasonable to have wildly different estimates, batteries for
example add whack to the cost of PV kW in the off grid world.

The latest issue of Home power had two wildly varying estimates of cost
per kWh of PV. I forget the numbers, but recall that one estimate was
like $1.00 per kWh. The other one was much higher. Does anyone know what
number is accurate?
