A few more gallons? [RE-wrenches]

I agree w/Windy, get a better pump. In addition, I think the battery losses (in & out)will eat up most of that "surplus" power and as Matt said the flow will go down as well due to the lower voltage and pump RPM. I've used Shurflos on my well for about 7 years, need to rebuild about every 9 months, kept a spare all of the time w/a fresh rebuild to drop in at a moments notice. Pumps NEVER fail at a good time. I was pushed over the edge to a better pump on my last Shurflo failure, it was the day before my back surgery! I was in major pain, out of water and having to pull my pump from 150' in the ground (a tough job w/ a good back)! We used to call this C%$@ "simple living", yeah right!
I now have an ETA, like it a lot so far, time will tell. The Grundfos is also quite nice and very versatile. W/o a doubt these pumps are much cheaper over the long haul, never mind the reliable water delivery that personally makes it worth it to me.
DO NOT add another Shurflo to the problem!
Good luck,
-jeff
