Permit costs [RE-wrenches]

County of San Diego is free and OTC with no delays! (if fingers are crossed)

Jodi Beebe, solar ally at www.ucan.org attempted to get all the local cities
to climb on board with a letter writing campaign--particularly Oceanside
here, where permitting fees are highest around, ranging from $250-$450 based
on dollar value.  And, it takes a month or two here, even for solar hot
water, which is not suppose to be visible from the street, yada, yada, yada.
But in fact, Jodi says she has succeeded and we're supposed to even get
refunds of past permitting costs.  (fingers are crossed, but not holding my
breath)

We see an amazing fluctuation in permit costs in this area.  The City of
San Luis Obispo will issue a permit on the spot for $35.00.  The City of
Paso Robles sometimes gets as much as $400.00 and it takes a month.  Other
jurisdictions are in the middle.
