List manager getting involved [RE-wrenches]

I, for one, am not interested in expanding the topics to include -
"quirky amusing things that happen in the course of a day, etc."

Actually, I'd prefer to respond on list.

I'm on several of these lists for various trades I participate in. In
addition to technical exchange, these lists help build a sense of
community. As such, I'd like to see this list loosen up a little so we can
share a bit more on the personal, off beat or of marginal pertinence.
Things like business management, software that is helpful, customer
relations, quirky amusing things that happen in the course of a day, etc.

We all have delete keys, so we can delete what is not of interest. I'd
like to propose a few simple rules that, if adhered to, we can all agree to
stop pestering Michael and he can stop needing to be so restrictive:

1. No personal attacks. We all have feelings and no one likes to get theirs
hurt. There are a lot of liberals, and not to shock anyone, a few
political conservatives on this list. We're not doing anyone a favor if we
bash either side. We can disagree, but no one is a moron, idiot or any of
the like.

2. Keep the subject line accurate. If the subject "morphs" into a
different topic, change the subject line. Then, those that are too busy or
uninterested can delete efficiently.

I'd like to keep the California topic together on the same list. Other
states may adopt net metering, and a disassociated, common sense opinion is
valid regardless of which state it comes from.

Thanks for considering these points.
