Hello all,
I am writing to ask for any tips from those of you who have experience building batch solar water heaters. Anything you'd suggest making sure to do? things to avoid? best practices?
I have been hired to build and install a batch heater. I want this to be a high quality system; thus, coming to you for tips. Currently the plan is to do it based on Anthony Soppiello's one-tank heater design. The load for this unit is a few gallons a day (for education / display, and occasional dish/hand washing); it is to be used only during non-freezing months, in Quilcene-WA, and installed outside on the ground; it will be a stand alone unit (i.e. no backup) and will have morning shading.
I'm new to this list and have greatly enjoyed it.
Thanks.
