Well pumps and SWs revisited [RE-wrenches]

I know this has been beaten to death but I got a call a year ago about
a potential PV install. The owner was building and so we went through
some of the basics. You know, 115V well pump if possible and if not,
smaller and efficient. I never hear from the guy until... months later
we get to put in a SW 5548 system. I'm concerned about the pump because
the well pump installer laughed when our customer mentioned a 115V pump.

We put in the T-240 and learned the pump is a 1.5HP, TWO wire and
SURPRISE the 5548 trips on high current when the well pump calls for
power. Using a Fluke clamp on I measured 29.7A inrush (100ms) on one of
the 230V lines when using the generator to power the pump.

Any retrofit/improvement ideas or are we looking for a new pump?
