Thanks very much for your explanations, Rick and Mark. Now it's clear.

Mark, thanks for confirming that it's OK to twist in alternate 
directions. For a long run, that makes it MUCH easier to do.

I will keep that in mind for long wire runs to pump controllers and 
charge controllers, etc.

I wonder if others do this?
