ground rods in concrete/earth [RE-wrenches]

How bout next concrete pour someone donate a ground rod to put in the concrete.  Then put another in the ground next to it and let it all sit a month.  Test them to a third rod some distance away with a megger or other high voltage resistance test and see what they do. Maybe not the same as a lightning strike but it would yield some starting data.  Or has this been done and the data just needs to be located?

When I worked for GTE telephone, they actually drilled dry wells under the microwave towers, dropped in a copper wire, then packed it full with a salt compound.
