Joel hit the nail on the head.Homeowners Insurance DOES NOT COVER damage to
the home if any unlicensed work occurs . Not only will insurance not covered
unlicensed work but it is the builder or homeowner as contractor that has
the obligation and responsibility to hire licensed contractors and CONFIRM
OR VERIFY THAT. Want to lose any chance of property damage -- let the
insurance detectives find out that any property damage was not permitted or
done by unlicensed contractors or with non UL components --- even if
they past the building department by oversight and their lawyers will let
you know you have no coverage . Everyone owes the homeowner a moral
responsibility to report all unlicensed activity to the homeowner and the
building department irregardless of what the homeowners wants . Gator Tom
