Bill is totally correct here. NYSERDA is looking to have their money 
well spent. They see installer certification as one of the best ways 
to do it. It's hard to argue with that.
I also agree that all is hoopla is making NABCEP out to be the bad 
guys. To the very best of my knowledge, it just ain't that way. If I 
find out any different, you'll read it here immediately. That's a 
promise.
I've been a card carrying Hippy and Outlaw for most of my 55 years, 
so I have the same questions, concerns, and serious doubts as y'all. 
I firmly believe that NABCEP will turn out to be a very good thing 
for RE, IF, IF, IF we keep our hands on the reins. That means getting 
certified so you have a voice.
