Excellent work! Yes, this industry absolutely needs certified 
installers! We'll grouse about it, but both the installers and the 
public will be better served once the program is in place. 

I was in the auto repair biz back in the '70s & '80s when the voluntary 
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) tests were first offered. There 
weren't many takers at first, wrenches of all varieties tend to be 
distrustful of written tests. But now? Any shop that doesn't wave ASE 
signage and sleeve patches is practically shouting, "HEY, I'M 
SUBSTANDARD! COME GET RIPPED OFF HERE!" 

This will be a very, very good thing for our industry.
