Friends:

Yesterday I remounted an old system I am revamping (Heart interface
inverter, yikes!). I purchased some 20 gauge galvanized sheet metal and
mounted it over 3/4 CDX plywood. I had to make a special trip to the steel
supplier and have it sheared to size. Cost was about $70. When installed,
it looked great. I will be mounting a lug on it and bonding it.

Previously, I had used 3/4" ACX plywood. I'd buy three or four sheets and
line them up in the shop and prime and paint with two coats of epoxy paint.
This was time consuming and expensive. I believe the sheet metal is a
good exchange, economically. If it is safer, then the decision is sound.
