Kirk,
You can run a 3 phase generator unbalanced with one phase supplying the inverter. Or
you can wire the other 2 phases supplying other loads making the generator more
balanced. If the generator is running anyway, you might as well use the energy and
dump the other 2 phase's power to an electric heater (1 phase on the top element and
the other on the bottom). You can not parallel phases together as you probably know.
Running an electric motor/generator is very inefficient.
