Unisolar laminates, roofing responsibility [RE-wrenches]

Tom,

An excellent reason to have roofers do the roofing. Every time you penetrate
the roof, a possible future leakage problem is created for the installer,
and the homeowner. I have seen several installs done by others which show
premature signs of seeping around roof jacks and fasteners.
A professionally installed standing seam metal roof with integrated PVL
seems to me to be the ideal way
of getting the best roof possible for your customer, while taking the solar
installer out of that part of the liability loop.

But, that means that your customer has to first be in the market for a new
roof, and an expensive one, at that!

Matt

In regards to John Bittersdorf's letter

A Question -
Now that you put the roof on, instead of the roofer, if there are any leaks,
are you responsible for water damage to the facility?
