600 VDC switches [RE-wrenches]

Eric et al,

I just downloaded Square D doc#17103006.pdf which I would be happy to 
email to anyone off-list. This is page 3-6 from their catalogue. 
Title is "Heavy Duty Saftey Switches, Not Fusible 600 Volt, Class 
3110"  and for the HU 300 & HU 400 series the note referencing DC 
operation states "For 3 and 4-pole devices use outside two poles for 
switching DC". I read this as stating we can switch two positives on 
the outside poles and run the negatives, unswitched, directly to the 
Sunny Boy inverter. Could a code guru straighten this out for us? 
Please quote chapter and verse so I can check your sources.
