Power Plant Liability Insurance [RE-wrenches]

John,
Hate to see an insurance company blow this out of proportion. But really, in
terms of killing someone, the PV has at best only as much chance as any
exposed 240V AC wiring that's behind a fence and has warning signs. Of
course we see this in many generator buildings (on or off-grid), many farm
locations where stuff is wired "in the rough", and other locations that I'm
brain-cramping on.
I would urge you to try to have the insurance company not make a big deal
about this, that it's really no more unusual than any other part of this
property. (I'm sure the property has a lot of "unusual" features, given the
size of the array and the probable financial ability of the owner...)

Subject: Power Plant Liability Insurance [RE-wrenches]
Hi all,
We just finished a 25 kW PV system for a private individual, located near a
commercial greenhouse inside a private, yet accessible, fenced location. As
you know, with Sunny Boy's those arrays are operating at upwards of 350 VDC.
We plastered the whole area with "Danger - High Voltage" signs and stickers,
to hopefully prevent the clueless from zapping themselves.
Our client is concerned about potential liability problems in such a worst
case scenario. His insurance company has no idea how to write such a
policy. Anybody out there have any experience with this? Insurance
company contacts or references would be much appreciated.
Thanks, John.
