American energy use [RE-wrenches]

Tom,
It's only intended as a contextual reference. I used it in a Sunny Boy
quote:
"The actual AC output of the power system will vary depending on season,
time of day, sun azimuth angle, module temperature, localized shading from
trees, and air clarity. Field experience indicates that actual AC output is
typically around 70% of nominal rated array output for each hour of direct
sunshine. Using an extrapolated figure of 90% of the average year-round
figure for Albuquerque of 6.65 daily sun-hours for a seasonally-adjusted
array, and assuming no shading losses from trees, you may expect this system
to supply about 11.7 usable kilowatt-hours daily. This is about 30-50%
(depending on source) of the consumption of the "average" American home. It
will probably provide a considerably higher percentage of your electrical
consumption, depending upon the efficiency measures you achieve."

Wrenches, check out Darrin Primm's link. Some fascinating figures, broken
down by state, and by residential/commercial/industrial. Vast disparities
between states, and just for grins, check out "Industrial" for Washington
DC.
