Friends:
I have a few off-grid clients without generator back up. Sizing battery
banks for them is tricky as the size of bank that one can charge varies
seasonally. Too large a battery bank will never fully charge in the
winter, too small will waste sunlight in the summer.
I have had off grid customers with aging battery banks cull bad batteries
and run with fewer batteries to buy time before purchasing all new
batteries. I prefer this to replacing a few batteries and mixing them with
the old batteries.
William
