The Daystar works great for me. I use it when I test pumps on real PV 
power. The sensing device is a crystalline silicon cell, so I presume 
it tracks the performance of most PV arrays fairly well.

I think it's a great tool for the installer, to test or demonstrate 
system performance under <100% sun conditions.
