Hi Bob,

Thanks allot, your words of advice are greatly appreciated.  Most of the 
income I generated between 1985 and 1990 was from service and 
preventative maintenance.  Every time I see a solar installation in L.A. 
I take notes about what I see as well as the job address.  This 
information gets added to a database that is useful for generating 
service flyers if work slows down.  In fact when the last round of solar 
rebates ended in 1985, I went to the Building Department and spent a 
week going through microfilms of every permit pulled, looking for solar 
permits.  I put together a list of over 4,000 homes in L.A. with solar 
water heaters.  You are right; maintenance contracts are good profit 
centers.
