Allan with grid-tied SWs,

I'm sure you realize that a unit installed in 1999 is an ETL-listed unit and
never made any claim as to meeting the anti-islanding testing of IEEE 929.
That unit was not installed with any correlation to IEEE 929-2000 since it
had not been published yet. Utilities that are questioning pre-UL-listed
units are questioning their own judgement in allowing it on their system in
the first place. Requiring an upgrade of the ETL version is a lot more
questionable since it is not addressed in the UL warning.

Currently testing is going on at Sandia National Labs to determine the level
of anti-islanding protection of the UL-nonlisted unit. That information will
be available by late next week. It may help provide information for
utilities questioning the ETL listed unit, but they are too different units.

Sorry, gang, this message was supposed to go to Pagan, not all of you. Our
local utility is requiring a locked disconnect (not just moving from sell to
float or LBX) on a 1999 system because of the UL fiasco.
