SWR2500U Some derating likely [RE-wrenches]

Bill,

The CEC asked for written comments for the recent renewable energy program staff
workshops. Here's a recommendation I submitted: Require inverter manufacturers
to provide inverter output performance curves certified by an independent
testing laboratory. This is first step is necessary before performance-based
ratings and rebates can be implemented.

In the early 1990s, Omnion, Trace and Kenetech provided performance data so
designers could optimize inverters and PV modules (and meet SMUD bid
requirements). John Berdner remembers those good old days when our design team
bought inverters and his combiner boxes by the truckload :-)

Its time to crank it up a notch and buy inverters by the truckload again. I'm
sure John can whip up some data for the Sunny Boy. Chris remembers the old
SW5548 non-battery data. The newcomers at Xantrex can dig up the old SW5548
non-battery data and produce numbers and curves for the XR.

"Some derating likely" is ok for general web info, but system designers need the
data.

Best regards,
Joel Davidson
