Mo,
We have good consumer protection in California (and in other states). If you
see work or sales practices that you think are illegal or unsafe, call the
Contractors State License Board, Attorney General, building planning and
inspection office, police, Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau.
Write to the Attorney General about the guy saying there are "10 hours of
sun." Explain that he is giving misleading information to consumers. Send
along a page of solar radiation data from the "Red Book" and info from the
CEC handbook buying a PV system consumer guide and send a copy of your
letter to the customer. If you are a contractor, meet your Home Depot
manager to tell him your qualifications and ask for referrals.
