ETA Pumps [RE-wrenches]

Good luck brave one. Solar water pumps have been, hands down, the most
stress causing product I've ever installed. It doesn't help that they are
always a long ways from the shop. I'd like to think they've made a lot a
progress in the last few years but....only time in the field will tell. In
my real world trade, commercial and industrial electrical work, I have
always been reimbursed for failed products. Sometimes it's only a credit at
the supply house but that still equals money.

I just installed one of the South African made WaterMax pumps in a
battery-less livestock watering application. They appear to be a very well
built, totally field serviceable diaphragm pump. We started with it in a
hand dug well but as they say "the well went dry" so we are now waiting for
a new well to be drilled. With approximately 30' of lift this pump was
doing over 4 gpm (it's rated at 3.7 gpm). At it's max head of 260' it's
rated at a 181.2 gallons per hour. That's with 300 watts at 64 volts
nominal (4 modules in series). The system lists for $3,375 which included
the pump with 50' of wire, modules, module interconnects, top of pole mount,
controller and a replacement set of diaphragms. And, no, I do not represent
them in any way, call Solar Water Technologies at 800-952-7221 but do tell
them I sent you.
