Paul is not far off here...Paul Benson of Dankoff told me he checked
insolation during the peak of the wildfire smoke (we're 300 miles away) with
a pyranometer and got 650-700 watts/sq. meter, when we normally get
1,000-1,200.

the Sierra Nevada foothills and the customer told me that the output of his
original eight BP90s on a Wattsun tracker would drop by 30% on some days
where there was a lot of jet activity. He attributed this to the contrails
or 'chemtrails' as he called them. I thought that was a bit of an
exaggeration until I just read a newspaper clip about how Nasa announced
that contrails are actually forming weather altering clouds and having an
impact on our climate. Apparently they saw a dramatic shift after sept. 11
and were able to study it better with the planes grounded. It seems we may
have to factor this into module output calcs in the future.Carl Reuter
