Allan,
This is for a 350 foot lift. You are proposing to divert a rated 340
watts of PV.
I'm looking at our ETAPUMP Integrated Systems Sizing Table. We offer
a 300 watt and a 480 watt system. I'll simplify the matter by looking
at the 300 watt system.
System # ETA-04H-300, at 350' lift, will pump 2.5 GPM. (with 480
watts, it speeds up to 3.4 GPM, so with your proposed array of 340 W,
you will get nearly 3 GPM.
The 300W system has an ultimate capacity of 525' Whis is good to know
in case the well drops further. Submersion depth is not limited and
is insignificant.
Now, let's compare to the Solamotor jack system. I ASSUME he means
you need 10A rated array at nominal 24V PV-direct. That about 10A X
34V = 340 watts array rating. That is surprising, in relation to a
yield of 1/2 GPM. There might be a miscommunication somewhere.
Nevertheless, Solamotor is exotic compared to a submersible, and you
can't use a pitless adapter so it would require a well pit (in
well-drained soil) to prevent freezing, which is a substantial added
cost.
Next, let's think about efficiency compared to an AC pump running
from the battery system. We do have the same ETAPUMP available for
battery systems. Here is performance for the same helical rotor pump
end and motor, operating from a 48V battery system. (We don't yet
have a full-power 24V model, but for this comparison, we need only
consider watts).
ETA-HR04H-48V at 350 feet will pump 2.7 GPM drawing 323 watts from
the battery system.
How does that compare with the AC pumps you have considered?
