UL Listing versus CSA listing status (was on grid battery...) [RE-wrenches]

Marco / Wrenches:

You can check the Listing status of any UL product on the UL website
www.ul.com. Then click on word certifications and enter the company
name, UL file number, etc. in the search box. I encourage you all to
check out the UL site and use it as part of your submissions to building
departments. This is really good stuff to download and save for
inspectors. It is the proof that something is or is not UL listed.

** This does not tell you something is ETL or CSA Listed to UL Standards
**

The information on the site is usually pretty up to date - typically
about a week or two old unless you bug UL to do it faster. For example,
our 1800 was completed last Friday and it is already on the UL site.
(UL file number E210376)

The UL category for grid interactive inverters is QIKH and you will find
two relevant Xantrex entries:

QIKH.E187916 for the "Trace Engineering" inverters and,
QIKH.E199356 for the "Trace Technologies" inverters

You can click on these entries and the guide card will come up showing
the Listed products with various parameters of the Listing. I just
checked the UL site and I did not see the SW with GTI Listed. I do not
know if ETL or CSA have similar tools for checking Listing status.

Best regards,
John Berdner

Ezra,

Thank you for clarifying the CSA/CTL point. I'm still not clear whether
the SW 4.2 w/GTI has been UL1741 approved BY UL. Can you please educate
me on this point?

thanks,
marco
