Graham,
MC is in the midst of manufacturing a locking mechanism for their connector.
It should be available soon and I believe it is the safest and best way to
make this connection. I have seen far too many systems with loose connectors
(every system I have inspected so far has had at least a few loosened
connections). These are excellent installers so I know it is not their
fault. It is far too easy to not make a good connection. This connector lock
is likely to solve most of these problems.
Bill.

Dear Wrenches,
Thanks for the informed and experienced feedback. I was unaware of the
impregnated poison and was also unaware that high voltage systems were
installed in Sacramento in the mid 90's. I feel much more assured about
the safety and longevity of these high voltage PV systems. I have a
sample MC PV connector provided by Kensington Electronics that does not
twist and lock and it pulls apart fairly easily. I will make sure to
find and use the locking connections. Thanks again.
Graham Owen
