Invertrix inverters [RE-wrenches]

Confession time -
I was one of the poor suckers that sold a couple of Invertrix
inverters.
(If nothing else, this post will make those of you who did not sell
them feel good.)
The only Invertrix that I sold locally (read: gotta service it) was
fine before the first failure, but we sent it back 4 times and it was
never repaired correctly.  It never again had any surge capability.  It
would shutdown with an overload error without even trying to start the
load.  Personally I believe it was a software enhancement (read:error)
that caused it to shut down early.  They claimed the inverter was fine,
even though it wouldn't even try to start a Skil saw or 1/2HP well
pump, and they wouldn't give us a new one after 3 returns.  "Clearly
the customer is abusing it."  Yeah, a refrigerator is an abusive load
for a 2500W inverter . . .

It's current problem is that it won't turn on and stay on for more than
a second or two.  Are there any repair centers out there who might be
willing to look at it?  (I have essentially no hope, but a post is
cheap.)  Maybe it could be dumbed-down (bypass the smarts) and made
useable.  Schematics would be great.
Inverterrepair.com (1-866-52-FIXIT) has a web site still active but the
number has been disconnected.
