Thank you, Pagan, for calling to say that GTI info is posted on the
internet.

Thank you, Xantrex, for emailing this message to our SW customers:
Dear Xantrex Customer
You are receiving this message because you have registered with us as
part
of our "work in process" homeowners group. This means you have purchased
an
SW series inverter for a Grid connected system but did not complete
installation as of Dec 10.
This is to keep you informed of progress regarding the status of the SW
series approval and our current actions. We are working hard with
Utility
companies, UL and other agencies to minimize the inconvenience caused by
this situation and we appreciate your patience.
We are working with Utility companies to resolve issues for homeowners
who
have pre-existing installations. Our effort is to provide sufficient
safety
data and expert testimony to afford Utility companies an opportunity to
"grandfather" existing systems under pre-November 2000 UL requirements.
This solution poses the least inconvenience for homeowners and several
Utility companies have already accepted this approach.
For new installations, we have designed and tested a product improvement
that has been shown to solve all of the concerns raised by UL. This
product
improvement requires a modification to the SW plus the installation of a
new accessory device, the Grid Tie Interface (GTI). The SW has already
received a new listing to UL1741 and we are awaiting final agency
approval
for the GTI. In addition to meeting regulatory requirements, the GTI
also
has positive system benefits including improved SELL mode efficiency.
If a system was not installed before Dec 10, we cannot request that
Utility
companies "grandfather" it under the old requirements. Therefore, to
assure
that all new systems are compliant with the latest UL, Utility company
and
CEC (where applicable) requirements we will offer work in process
homeowners the opportunity to exchange the SW unit they have already
purchased for an updated SW unit and GTI at no charge (including
shipping
expenses). We are also working on a plan to offer compensation to
installers for labor that might be involved in the change.
We will begin to contact Work in Process homeowners personally within
the
next 10 days in order to answer any specific questions regarding your
situation and arrange the logistics of the exchange. We will continue to
post the latest news on our web site.
We regret the inconvenience that this matter has caused and we hope to
resolve it as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and for
selecting Xantrex products.
