Maytag Neptune Dryer [RE-wrenches]

Pals:

I have a client with two PS series inverters and a Maytag Neptune washer
and dryer.  The washer works but the dryer will not start on the inverter.
It will start with the generator running.  I've checked line voltage with
my Fluke 87 in the record mode and there is very little dip in line voltage.

I am considering suggesting a UPS to filter the waveform but this is
strictly a guess at some solution.  I know we've discussed which inverters
will power which appliances, but barring changing out the inverters, what
else can one do?
