Large Parking lot Lighting [RE-wrenches]

Here is e-mail from Cal/OSHA regarding the minimum required parking lot
lighting levels (.5 fc) in California.

Hello,

I am doing an independent analysis of a local companies exterior
building lighting and am needing information on the minimum Cal/OSHA
safety requirements for lighting in the parking lots and above exit
doors. The only regulation I can find that refer to this on the Cal/OSHA
web pages is this:

It states that low activity level areas, like I assume a parking lot is,
need .5 foot-candles. Does this represent an accurate assessment of your
safety regulations regarding these circumstances?

Standards for Illumination in General Industry are contained in T8 GISO
Section 3317.  GISO specifies illumination (a performance requirement) for

exit signs in T8 GIS0 3216(c).  Your assessment is accurate.
