Rough Starts [RE-wrenches]

Dana,

Try calling the manufacturer, and asking their tech guys. I know, a long
shot, but it could be you're dealing with a defective unit. Maybe there is
a test they can have you do to see. Or maybe they can send you a
replacement part that you can first rig up in your shop, fed from an SW,
and see if the replacement works.

Just 'cause it doesn't work on the SW doesn't mean the SW is the cause!
I've seen more than my fair share of "that's never happened before, must be
that new machine you put in" (unrelated to PV and inverters) to know that
it usually has happened before, the cause is almost never the stuff that
I've designed, and the folks who are so sure it's not their problem most
often end up having caused the problem.

It also is, by the way, the Customer's responsibility to give you access to
the back of the stove. You can bet he would if the stove guy was called in
to fix it. Short of a magic wand, you've got to be allowed to get at stuff
to test and fix. May not be the taken as a desired request, but if the
customer is reasonable, they will see the request as reasonable. Remember,
we're just like the other service guys and gals. We don't go into houses
with nasty dogs, we don't perform work on out of warranty equipment without
payment, and we need proper access for our selves and our tools!

Good luck.

Jeff
