Dear David and Manuel,

The torque reqired to spin a generator at full output
is

Torque (inch pounds) = (generator Kw rating X 63025) ÷
(generator rpm X 1.34)

This is the theoretical torque and there is a lot of
friction and windage to account for. Most generators
end up with 2 hp for each Kw of generator output.
