Doug and Wrenches,

These are real measured losses in many many systems. The site on the second
table determines the solar resource and optimum angle for collection. The
type of module is less relevant--we can argue all day long about whose
modules are better. A good rule is that manufacturers with a tighter
tolerance (+/-5% versus +/-10%) will give you modules closer to their
ratings.

You are correct in how you interpreted this table. However, this is specific
to California and would have to be recalculated for other parts of the world
(i.e. New Zealand or Vermont).
