QO Breakers and Panels [RE-wrenches]

Heinemann (I didn't know how to spell it either--had to use spellcheck than
reference Wiles' book to be sure) breakers can be mounted in a custom
enclosure, but that does raise issues with some inspectors. There are at
least one or two other breaker manufacturers rating for 125 Vdc. Check Trace
and others. I recently saw a 20-amp, 125-Vdc breaker by another company name
but the case molding was identical to the Heinemann--must be a subsidiary.
My recollection of the QOU breaker is that it is slightly larger than the
snap-in version. Don't know if that makes a difference in performance, but
some are saying they can get QO breakers rated for 125Vdc in a special
enclosure. I'm from Missouri (Africa really), I'll believe it when I see it.
Bill.

Bill:
Thanks for the informative post. So who makes a breaker suitable for 48
VDC nominal or higher PV systems besides Hindeman (is that spelled
correctly?). How do you mount a Hindeman in a custom enclosure? Isn't a
QOU just a QO in a bolt down package?
I'll look up my Square D data in the next day or two,
William
