Contracts [RE-wrenches]

We are installing 10kw Bergey wind turbines that carry a 5 year warranty.
We warranty our install and work also for 5 years. Typically maintenance
contracts are sold for items that require constant maintenance! Office
copiers is an example of a machine that is critical to a busy company and
needs a fast response so therefore most people buy a maintenance contract.

We are introducing tax credit leg. here in VT and wind requires a 5 year
warranty. I am pushing for a 5 year on solar PV and thermal but most of the
solar folks want 1 or 2 years. CA has the 5 year requirement and it's a harder
sell to the leg. that solar PV has a 20+ year life but the warrenties are only
one year. Any comments?
