This is very much like the position of the used car mechanic, which I'll admit I
spent the early decades of my life doing.  There are some situations where you
simply note the problems on the work order, "Note: PV modules need to be
secured, PV wiring undersize, batteries need cleaning and service." The customer
is made aware that further work *ought* to be done, and you're both covered, and
have a hard copy memory jog if it ever comes to a dispute. But there are
sometimes situations where things are so unsafe, that the customer either lets
you fix them, or you refuse to work any further. "Note: No fuse protection on DC
household wiring. Danger!"  These especially need to be noted on the repair
order, and make sure that both you and the customer get a copy.
