DR charging oddities [RE-wrenches]

Hey Phil,
I ran my DR3624 for 2.5 years with an unbalanced generator....and added
the T240 1.5 years ago. I've had both setups react in a similar way as
yours did. One time it turned out to be a bad capacitor in the generator
exciter circuit. Another time it was a bad and arcing connection on the
twistlock plug.....causing interference in the line and making the DR
transfer relay cycle.
I have not had any trouble for about 2 years now....about as long as
I've been running my Coleman ProGen 5000 generator....with brushes. I've
had NO luck whatsoever with brushless units used with DR chargers.
I guess my point here....ya might wanna take a look see at your overall
generator health. FYI....one of the biggest factors I've found which
affects my charging ability....ambient temperature. I get between 70 and 73
amps out of that DR3624 charger in the winter.....between 45 and 60 in the
warmer months!
