Conversely, I would think it would improve the performance of DHW panels, at
least in the summer when we need it the least.
Up here in Northern New York we have gotten over 100" of snow so far this
year so all bets are of on any roof mounts!

I forgot to mention one other thing.  Roofs get VERY hot.  This
location, therefore, results in solar cell operating temperatures rising
markedly, causing power loss.  What's that worth in $$$.
Any guesses?  I would think modules placed in free air are more cost
effective.
