Real Goods & Siemens panels [RE-wrenches]

Michael, many months ago, I was approached by a concern from Miami about
buying these panels. They made all these claims about  the panels, 4
years in use in Latin America, 21 years left on the warranty, blah,
blah, blah.  They did not know why the system was taken down. I've been
burned on big buys before, so I called Dave Holt at Siemens and gave him
the model #. Since I'm suffering from CRS (can't remember shit), I'll do
my best to remember what he said. Basically, he said these panels are
several generations old, probably made in the late 80s and to his
recollection, only had a 10 warranty on them. That sound you are hearing
is the sound of my crap detector going off. I bailed out of the deal,
and low and behold they turn up at Real Goods. I'll have to pick up a
few when I order my $35 cedar toilet paper hanger. Smitty.
