I totally agree with you and IPP. As a Xantrex distributor, I will
hold their feet to the fire on this one. However, I believe that
Xantrex realizes that this is as close to a do-or-die situation as it
gets for them. My initial impression is that they will do WHATEVER IT
TAKES to make it right for customers and installers in the lurch. To
me, that means full compensation for any and all service calls to
correct the problems. It means that THEY pay for shipping both ways.
It means priority delivery as soon as the fix is in-no delays.
That being said, my experience with them (and other big corporations)
is: "You want? ASK! Don't expect them to offer compensation. Tell
them what you charge (your usual going rate-no gouging) and send them
a bill. I think they'll pay up one way or the other. Either that or
they'll risk losing dealers and customers en massé. No company can
withstand that and survive.
