Is a 30KW generator too big?? I just read a report
published by CERA (Cambridge Energy Research
Associates) on microturbines, including Capstone
(www.microturbine.com). They run on diesel, LPG, NG,
and biogas. I believe that if the biogas was
available it was the cheapest. Natural gas was the
second cheapest. 10,000+ hours of run-time was
achieved with only minimal maintenance. Also they are
25% more efficient and 600 times cleaner emmissions
over standard diesel engine generators.

I have proposed them as stand-by systems for some of
my larger commercial clients. Expect to pay a little
over a $1/W for one of these -- not too bad
considering...

I know its not RE, but sometimes we have to bite the bullet.

Thanks!
